Whitmer ‘Loses Connection’ When Asked About Hunter Biden

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – On June 9, Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer lost connection with CNN “State of the Union” host Dana Bash while discussing Hunter Biden.

As Whitmer talked about former President Donald Trump being a “convicted felon,” Bash attempted to change the subject to Hunter Biden’s gun trial. Bash noted that Hunter Biden is facing three felony charges related to a 2018 purchase of a Colt revolver while he was under the influence of illegal drugs. As Bash continued talking, Whitmer interrupted, asking, “Dana, are you there?” Bash responded by asking Whitmer, “Can you hear me?” However, Bash then stated Whitmer could not hear her, and the show went to a “very quick commercial break” so CNN could fix the issue.

The issue with the connection led to speculation about whether Whitmer really had an issue with her connection, as some viewers noticed in the video clip that Whitmer looked off-camera to the right at the 18-second mark, just before asking if Bash was still there. She then looked off-camera to the right a second time before Bash paused the interview for the commercial break.

After the connection was fixed, Whitmer returned to the show, with Bash asking her again about Hunter Biden’s trial, with Whitmer stating, “I don’t know how to weigh in on that.” She added that she was “happy” President Joe Biden said he would “have confidence in the judicial system.” She then compared the president, who “respects the rule of law” and “wants to shore up this democracy,” to Trump, who she called “a convicted felon” who wants to “go after his enemies.”

Since May, when Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, Democrats have been referring to him as a “convicted felon.” On June 11, Hunter Biden was also found guilty of three felony charges related to his 2018 purchase of a gun while he was addicted to cocaine.
