(UnitedHeadlines.com) – An unidentified 26-year-old was arrested after he was seen on video taking off his clothes and climbing around Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World” ride.
Police responded to Disneyland around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 26 to assist Disneyland’s security team with the guest, according to Anaheim Police Department spokesperson Jonathan McClintock. Anaheim police officers arrested the man on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and suspicion of indecent exposure. He was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
Ride operators stopped the amusement after the man reportedly exited the ride and took his clothes off, leaving them near the side of the ride. The man then proceeded to climb around the sets and decorations.
In a video of the incident, the man was seen climbing all over the animatronic figures in the ride while wearing only his boxers. ”Jingle Bells” was heard playing in the background while the man climbed all over the animatronic figures and sets. A staff member asked the man to stop, adding that the man was “going to get hurt.” Guests requested that the man “sit down” and to “please stop.” One guest on the ride stated that the man was “going to break all the stuff.” Another guest suggests staff members should stop the music on the ride.
One guest on the ride at the time of the incident stated that the man “looked out of it” and worried. At least four cast members attempted to help the man down, the guest reported.
Another video of the incident shows the man naked, wading through the water as he makes way outside the ride. The man then walks through the park without his clothes.
A final video of the incident shows six security guards carrying the man away. A guest called the man an “idiot” and berated him for the act, which was done “in front of all these kids.”
The ride reopened around 3 p.m. Nov. 26.
