Biden Shuts Down Age Worries on Late Night Seth Meyers Chat

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – During an interview on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” President Joe Biden, 81, brushed off concerns about his age by pointing to former President Donald Trump.

Last on the show when he was vice president, Biden made a surprise appearance on the show Feb. 26, which marked its 10th anniversary, with “Hail to the Chief” playing as he entered the stage.

Meyers began by discussing the report from Special Counsel Robert Hur and Biden’s age. He then asked how Biden would address voters concerned about his age, to which Biden responded by pointing to Trump. Biden said, “Take a look at the other guy,” saying that they are close in age and how Trump, 77, “can’t remember his wife’s name.” Biden continued, saying, “It’s about how old your ideas are,” then again pointed to Trump and claimed Trump wants to take the country back in regard to many of the issues the country is facing, adding that voters should look at the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Biden also discussed his concerns about Trump being re-elected to the White House.

During Biden’s appearance on the show, Meyers also asked Biden about Israel and Hamas and the possibility of a cease-fire. Biden said they are hoping for an agreement, which could happen during Ramadan. However, that agreement must include the release of hostages still being held in Gaza by Hamas.

The discussion of Biden’s age and his mental competence continues to heat up as polls show his age is a concern for an overwhelming majority of Americans, including some Democrats. Hur’s report pushed the concerns about Biden’s mental acuity to a new level after Hur wrote in the report that Biden could not remember when he served as vice president and when his son Beau died. The report also said Biden could not be charged because a jury would be sympathetic to him being an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
