Biden Forgets Policies in Meetings with Senior Politicians

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – A new report shows that President Joe Biden, 81, is forgetting the details of his policies during his meetings with senior politicians.

While many of the politicians speaking out are Republicans, there are also some Democrats who acknowledge Biden’s memory lapses. Many politicians are noticing Biden is “not the same person” he was when he served as vice president.

According to five people familiar with a one-on-one discussion between Biden and the House Speaker and Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson in February, Biden allegedly called a major policy change by his administration a “study.” The policy stops permits being issued for shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) to several countries. During the meeting, Johnson criticized Biden for the move, stating the move helped Vladimir Putin. According to those with knowledge of the discussion, Johnson was dismayed when Biden responded that it was not a policy change but a study.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates said the people repeating Johnson’s side of the story from the February meeting are repeating “a false account.”

During a January meeting with congressional leaders where funding for Ukraine’s war effort was discussed, Biden often paused and closed his eyes frequently, according to people familiar with the meeting. He was allegedly using his notes to speak about obvious points. During the meeting, Biden did not seem to engage in the conversation, instead deferring to other lawmakers or his staff when asked a question. However, National Security Council official Casey Redmon claimed Biden only turned to his aides twice during the meeting.

One person who attended the meeting called it “uncomfortable.” In contrast, the Democratic House minority leader and New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries referred to Biden as “incredibly strong, forceful and decisive” during the meeting.

The criticism of Biden echoes that of former House speaker and former California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, who said Biden is “not the same person” as when he served as vice president, noting his use of notes and mumbling during a meeting the two had in May 2023.
