Beverly Hills NBA G League Player Arrested for Murder of a Woman in Las Vegas

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – NBA G League basketball player Chance Comanche, 27, and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, 19, have been arrested, accused of “executing a murder plan.”

Harnden, 19, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada on Dec. 13 on kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder and murder charges. She also has an unrelated charge of theft. Her bail was set for $500,000.

Comanche was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail in California on Dec. 15 on charges of first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder and murder, and is being held without bail. He had a scheduled court appearance for Dec. 19.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the two “were responsible for the murder” of Marayna Rodgers, 23, in Nevada. A medical assistant from Washington state, Rodgers was visiting Las Vegas with friends. In a post on Twitter, the police stated the two were arrested following “the disappearance and killing” of Rodgers, who disappeared Dec. 6 after hanging out with friends and meeting with Harnden and Comanche.

According to the criminal complaint, Harnden held Rodgers without her consent and against her will with the intent of inflicting bodily harm or killing her.

Following the arrest of Harnden and Comanche, police stated that they were able to locate Rodgers’ body “in a desert area in Henderson, Nevada.”

After his arrest, Comanche was released from the Stockton Kings, the Sacramento Kings’ G League affiliate team. On Dec. 5, the night before Rodgers’ disappearance, he had played a game in Henderson, Nevada, against the G League Ignite, a developmental team. On Dec. 7, he was present for the Kings game against the Rip City Remix in Portland.

Over the past two seasons with the Stockton Kings, Comanche has played in 24 games, including 13 this year. In each game he averaged 14 points, 1.2 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. During the 2022-2023 season, Comanche also played in an NBA game for the Portland Trail Blazers.
