(UnitedHeadlines.com) – Actor David Gail, 58, has died, according to a Jan. 19 Instagram post from his sister, Katie Colmenares. A cause of death has not been released.
In the post, his sister remembered Gail as her “wingman” and “best friend.” The post included a photo of the two hugging each other. She said she would miss her brother “every second of every day forever.”
On Jan. 20, the host and producer of the “Beverly Hills 90210” Show podcast, Pete Ferriero uploaded clips to the podcast’s official Instagram account of Gail’s appearances on his show. He said the clips were of “stories he shared” when he was a guest on the podcast.
Ferriero also commented on Colmenares’ Instagram post, remembering Gail as a “kind human.” He said that Gail was “filled of life and incredible stories,” adding, “He was a gift to us all.”
In Ferriero’s Instagram stories, additional details would be reported by Gail’s family “at the appropriate time to them.”
Born in 1965, Gail was a native of Tampa, Florida. In the early 1990s, he appeared on the TV shows “Matlock,” “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” “Growing Pains” and “Murder, She Wrote.” He also played “Dean Collins” on “Savannah,” a WB drama, from 1996 to 1997, and had roles on other TV series, including “Robin’s Hoods,” “ER,” “JAG” and “The Round Table.”
From 1991 to 1994, he also played the role of Brenda Walsh’s fiancé, Stuart Carson, on “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Shannen Doherty played Walsh on the show. From 1997 to 2003, in over 200 episodes of the “General Hospital” spinoff “Port Charles,” Gail played Dr. Joe Scanlon.
He went on to appear in the 2002 film, “Bending All the Rules,” the 2004 film, “Perfect Opposites,” the film “The Belly of the Beast” and the film “Some Girl.” In 2019, he voiced Sam in the video game “Blacksad: Under the Skin,” which was his last acting credit.
