Alec Baldwin Attacks Phone of Pro-Palestine Protester

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – A video posted on social media on April 22 shows Alec Baldwin, 66, smacking a phone from the hand of a protester who demanded he say, “Free Palestine.”

The protester, host of an “anti-fascist” podcast, “Crackhead Barney & Friends,” accosted Baldwin while he was talking on the phone inside a New York City coffee shop, demanding he “say ‘Free Palestine’ one time.”

In the video, the protester harassed Baldwin to say “Free Palestine” while he was at the register of Maman on University Place, continuing to accost him as he walked toward the door, where he motioned for her to leave. She continues repeatedly asking him to say “Free Palestine,” stating she would leave him alone, “I swear,” if he says “Free Palestine one time” as he shakes his head no.

The protester, known for her ambush interviews, mentioned the criminal case against Baldwin, where he is charged with involuntary manslaughter for the 2021 shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while she was on the movie set of “Rust.” Hutchins was killed when Baldwin, who has pleaded not guilty, fired a gun he did not know was loaded. The protester calls Baldwin a “criminal,” asking him, “Why did you kill that lady,” and not receive jail time. Earlier this year, movie weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to serve 18 months in prison. Baldwin’s trial is scheduled to begin in July.

The video shows that an employee of the coffee shop, at one point, unsuccessfully tried to get the protester to stop harassing Baldwin, who also appeared to ask the employee to call the police.

The video ends when Baldwin asks the employee, “Can you do me a quick favor?” then he smacks the protester’s phone out of her hand.

In December 2023, a group of anti-Israel protesters heckled Baldwin, asking him to condemn Israel. However, Baldwin’s reply that he supports “peace for Gaza” angered the protesters.
