Actor from “Dukes of Hazzard” Issues Threat Against Biden’s Life

(UnitedHeadlines.com) – Actor John Schneider, 63, is being accused of posting a death threat against President Joe Biden in a now-deleted reply to Biden on Twitter.

Schneider, known for playing Bo Duke on the 1980s TV show the “Dukes of Hazard,” responded to Biden’s Dec. 21 post on Twitter regarding former President Donald Trump and the decision by the Colorado state Supreme Court to remove Trump from the ballot. Biden wrote that “Trump poses many threats to our country,” adding that the greatest threat Trump poses to the country is “to our democracy.”

In the response signed by Schneider, he stated that he believes Biden is “guilty of treason and should be publicly hung.” He then added, “Your son too.”

Schneider was named as the runner-up in the Fox singing competition, “The Masked Singer,” on the same day he posted his reply.

In response to the tweet, which was viewed hundreds of times before being deleted, many social media users debated whether it was a threat to Biden.

Schneider has commented on the situation, saying that people need to re-read the now-deleted tweet, saying that he did not threaten or call for acts of violence against Biden. He stated that he believes “some of our nation’s leaders in Washington have lost their way,” adding that we need “transparency and accountability for the “constitutional republic to survive.”

Under code 18, section 871, it is considered a federal felony to threaten the President of the United States, which includes “knowingly and willfully” threatening “to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict great bodily harm” to the president. The felony comes with a fine or a sentence of up to five years in prison or a combination.

Secret Service spokesman Steven Kopek said they were “aware of the comments” but would not say whether the agency is investigating Schneider. However, Kopek did say that “all threats related to our protectees” are investigated.
