(UnitedHeadlines.com) – On April 5, police found missing “1923” actor Cole Brings Plenty, 27, dead in a rural area 43 miles southwest of Kansas City, Kansas.
Plenty, who was under investigation by the Lawrence Police Department as part of a domestic violence incident, was last seen leaving Lawrence, Kansas, on March 31, driving a white Ford Explorer. His body was discovered by police with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office “in a wooded area” away from an unoccupied vehicle that they were asked to check on.
According to a statement from Lawrence police, officers responded on March 31 to a report of a woman screaming for help, and an affidavit supporting an arrest warrant for Plenty had been filed by police in response to the allegations of domestic violence. Before police arrived, Plenty allegedly fled the scene, with traffic cameras capturing the Ford Explorer headed out of town.
Plenty’s family reported him missing on April 2, expressing concern for his well-being after being unable to contact him since March 31. His manager and publicist, Michelle Shining Elk, said it was uncharacteristic of him not to make contact and called it “deeply concerning.”
On Instagram, his uncle, “Yellowstone” actor Mo Brings Plenty, shared his nephews’ missing person fliers, expressing doubt in one post that his nephew could have committed domestic violence. He said his nephew’s disappearance was “anomalous,” adding that he did not believe his nephew would be “on the run.”
In a statement, after police found the missing actor’s body, his father, Joe Brings Plenty Sr., thanked those who helped the family in their search, adding that he learned there were “many people” who knew about “the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.”
Cole Brings Plenty was a student at Haskell Indian Nations University. He appeared in two episodes of “1923,” the prequel to the “Yellowstone” Western series, and the TV series “The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger” and “Into the Wild Frontier.”
